OUR MISSION

At Reusewise, we believe renewable energy technology deserves a second life. Every year,
thousands of solar panels and inverters are replaced long before the end of their
operational lifespan. A panel that has served for 20 years still operates at 90% efficiency or
more. While rare earth materials are not used in traditional silicon solar panels, they are
present in supporting technologies such as inverters, converters, and grid-scale battery
systems. Although solar equipment recycling is not yet commercially viable, Reusewise
promotes decommissioning incentive programs and invests in advanced recycling
technologies.

WHY REUSE BEFORE RECYCLING?

Upgrades across the solar industry produce high-quality, still-viable panels and
components. Many have years or decades of use remaining. Reusewise maximizes
environmental value and expands clean energy access by redeploying these technologies.

Improper disposal of solar panels can release hazardous heavy metals—such as lead and
cadmium—into the environment. Valuable materials like silicon, aluminum, copper, and
glass are also lost if not recycled responsibly.

Reusewise ensures reuse first and responsible recycling afterward. We also set a new industry benchmark through the Sustainable Solar Farms Certificate, guaranteeing responsible reuse and recycling across the entire lifecycle of solar technology.
